THE CHALLENGE
How We Helped Mashreq NEO Unify Bank Performance
Mashreq NEO’s leadership measured performance across six areas: financial results, customers, risk, operations, strategic initiatives and market position. Each was reported separately, so building a complete picture of the bank took time and manual work.
UIUX Studio was brought in to design and build an executive analytics platform that brings all six areas into one weighted performance index. Alongside it, we delivered NEO GPT, a private AI assistant that lets staff get answers from internal documents.
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
One View of the Bank, Instant Answers
Leadership wanted the whole bank at a glance and quick answers from internal documents. Four requirements shaped everything we designed and built.
A single weighted score built from six performance areas, replacing separate reports. Leadership can read the health of the whole bank from one number.
Filters for country, city, branch, date and period, all on the same screen. Executives move from the bank-wide view to a single branch without switching reports.
Every metric shown against its target, its previous period and its weighting. Gaps stand out immediately, so attention goes where performance is slipping.
A private assistant that answers only from approved internal documents. Data stays inside the bank, and each user sees only what they are allowed to see.

Bringing a whole bank’s performance into one view meant solving for data, trust and security at the same time.
- Combining six performance areas from separate systems into one weighted index.
- Letting executives drill down from bank level to country, city and branch on one screen.
- Making targets, gaps and trends readable in seconds.
- Giving staff AI answers from internal documents without data leaving the bank.
OUR SOLUTION
Two Products, One Source of Truth
Executive dashboards to see performance and NEO GPT to ask about it, both reading from the same governed data. Leadership and staff work from one version of the numbers.
NEO GPT
A private AI assistant that answers in plain language from approved internal documents.
Behind both sits a governed data model, role-based access and an AI layer that only reads the documents each user is allowed to see. Security reviews were built into every release, not added at the end.

One weighted score, colour-coded for below, near and on target.

Financial, customer, risk, operational, strategic and market metrics, each with its change against the previous period.
Score Against Target
Overall score, target and gap for every pillar, side by side in one table.

Trend lines for each pillar, with the previous period and the weighting alongside.

NEO GPT
Instant Answers From the Bank’s Own Documents
A private AI assistant for Mashreq NEO staff. It reads only approved internal documents, and only what each user is allowed to see.

Access is tied to the bank’s identity system, so permissions follow each user.

DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
Agile, Secure Delivery Alongside Mashreq’s Teams
We worked in agile sprints alongside Mashreq’s data, risk and IT teams, with security reviews built into every release. Four stages took the platform from KPI framework to go-live.
KPI Framework
Agreed the six pillars, their weightings and their targets with leadership, giving every dashboard one shared definition of performance.
Data Modelling
Built one governed data model that feeds every dashboard, so the same number means the same thing everywhere.
AI Evaluation
Tested NEO GPT’s answers against real questions and their sources, so answers stay grounded in approved documents.
QA & UAT
Validated the numbers and access rules with each team before go-live, checking every figure and permission with the people who own it.
