UI/UX Process for beginners

The first step in the process that the UI, UX designer will need to start the process. The initial step starts keeping in mind the end-users. Who will be our users, where they are from? All these questions are important to consider and all the requirements are taken into consideration.

You can use various means to do the survey by collecting the ideas from the users. Sometimes the ideas provided by the users are not good, but sometimes the ideas are so amazing that it hits the bullseye.

The second step that comes is persona creation from the users that will help to build our product based on those personas. Solutions are created for the needs of the people who are our target users.

However, as soon as the personas got its reputation in the UX design industry. We include some points specifically of the users that are related to the requirements of our products. By that, we can create designs that serve different types of users. We build a real persona based on the data you collect, base on the user research, surveys you did in the first step.

The third step is to Create User Stories/Scenario Map/Sitemap. The important thing is to stick to your ideas. Keep them closed together. We don’t make any fancy cool looking board, as we believe simplicity is the new trend.

The fourth step is creating prototypes, Now comes the most fun part from our sides, the more UX design things. Nothing better than something that gives everyone a first visual impression about the products.

For finding ideas, paper and pencils are enough. For more details and put into a prototype, I prefer Sketch as my main tool, or Adobe XD (Experience Design). UI, UX are also helpful when you start doing mockups. Sketch also has many available plugins for Marvelapp, Invision, or using a mirror tool to see the design right away on your mobile.

The UI part is very complicated to get things done right. The main reason is that some of the startups are not even trying to do many works at their first. But afterwards, UX and UI need to stay very closely with each other. Sometimes UI and UX have a different approach, so they need to cope up with each other.

Be strict on colours, spacing, padding, font size. What we often did is to create a UI style guide, a good way to keep the consistency of designs. The UX part is still not ended here, we still need to think about the usability of each UI elements.

The UI style guide is the main part of design work later on. Hence the human efforts are needed to maintain, improve time. So make sure your UI and UX work well together, easy to maintain and always be consistent.

So, this is the steps in the process of UI, UX design for a beginner and will help you to know whats steps you need to go through and will help you to grow with the theoretical knowledge.
